Resource Highlight – “I Love Dirt!”
As we continue to highlight some of the fantastic resource books available for borrowing from our Early Childhood Resource Library, this week Nina shares her thoughts on the book by Jennifer Ward, “I Love Dirt!: 52 Activities to Help You and Your Kids Discover the Wonders of Nature.”
“If you often wonder what to do with the children when outdoors, I suggest this easy to follow book ‘i love dirt!’ This book includes 52 activities that you can do through the four seasons.
I adore spending time outdoors; the beauty of nature seems endless. From the varying shades of green on a single tree to the diverse sizes of pebbles scattered about, there’s so much to appreciate. The vibrant colors of autumn leaves can be just as, if not more, stunning than those of flowers. The gentle sound of raindrops soothes us, and jumping in puddles fills us with joyous laughter.
So much learning can be done outdoors and this book will help show you how. Math, art, science, language and much, much more. Plus you’ll feel great doing it too!”
