Meet the Child Care Navigator for the Métis Nation of British Columbia

My name is Violeta Savic, and I am the Child Care Navigator for the Métis Nation of British Columbia, working under the Ministry of Education. I have nearly 25 years of experience in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) field, with a diverse background in child care education across various roles.

My time with MNBC and the Ministry of Education has been invaluable, shaping my passion for Indigenous culture and reinforcing my commitment to working with Indigenous families while actively engaging with the community. I collaborate closely with the Ministry of Education team, Métis families, and Métis Chartered communities to ensure the successful, efficient, and effective delivery of Métis early years programs and services. This includes integrating Métis early learning resources that reflect Métis pedagogy and core values. I provide cultural materials, resources, and ideas, along with delivering workshops to early learning programs and professionals. I also build partnerships with early learning and child care professionals to share information about Métis early years supports.
