Responsible Adult – School-Age Program
Hilltop Christian Childcare Centre is looking for applicants to work in our Out of School Care Program. This applicant should be flexible, have a desire to work in a group setting with School-age children (K-Grade 7), and feel comfortable working in a Christian environment. Ultimately we hope to find someone who is also fun, creative, and understands School-age children. Our School-Age children have a wide interest range such as; board games, playing outside, pretend play, sensory and art to name a few. Our goal is to provide a comfortable and joyful program that children look forward to attending.
Responsibilities
Demonstrate a culturally sensitive approach when speaking with parents, while still enforcing guidelines set out by the center
Enthusiastically engage with children and build relationships
Ensuring the health, safety, supervision and well-being of children
Follow centre policies and licensing regulations
Lead teaching with regard to the Bible (willing to learn)
Walking or transporting children to/from school
Qualifications
Responsible Adult Certificate
Early Childhood Educator or Assistant (not required but an asset)
Class 4 drivers license or willing to obtain within 3 months (required)
Valid First Aid
Criminal Record check
Be at least 19 years of age
Hours & Wage
Average 25-30 hours/week based on a split shift schedule between hours of 7:00AM-9:30AM/2:00PM-6:00PM – hours may be increased up to a maximum of 40/week during Spring/Winter/Summer Break and school pro-d days.
Wage: $18.25-20.50/hour – depending on experience/qualifications (+ $6 Wage Enhancement for eligible ECE)
Benefits
Extended Health and Dental benefits after 3 months, at no cost to the employee (individual), must work minimum 20 hours/week.
10 sick days (eligible for 5 after 3 months)
4% accrued vacation
