We are seeking a caring, mindful, passionate, and collaborative individual for the role of:
Casual On-Call Early Childhood Educator/Assistants.

At Alex House we look at coupling the principles from these approaches to learn through the delight in children, understand the value of play, their vision, knowledge, skills and have a strong commitment to families.

Purpose and Responsibilities:
Our Casual On-Call Early Childhood Educator/Assistant will work collaborately with a team of Early Childhood Educators to plan, develop and deliver daily activities, that support and promote the health and development of children 0-12 years of age, using the Reggio Emilia approach to learning alongside the BC Early Learning Framework. Other responsibilities include developing strong relationships and communication with children, families and colleagues, and implementing high standards of care and supervision that promote the well-being of all children. And other related duties as required.

Qualifications Required:
·       Experience working with children (0-12 years of age) and their parents/guardians
·       At minimum a 20-hour Responsible Adult certificate or the successful completion of one or more courses relating to child development, guidance, health and safety or nutrition or willing to obtain. An ECE certificate is an asset but not required or 20
·       Understanding and/or willingness to learn the Reggio Emilia approach to learning and the BC Early Learning Framework
·       Creativity, flexibility, initiative, enthusiasm and sense of humor
·       Proven sound judgement, ethical decision making, ability to stay calm under  pressure and appropriate personal and professional boundaries
·       In a non-profit community-based organization, have the ability to work in an inclusive environment
·       First Aid Certificate

This is a on-call, as needed, position-with potential of regular part-time or full-time positions, with an annual hiring range: -$22.00-$25.25 (ANHBC Band-C1-C2) Start Date: May 28, 2026, or As soon as possible
