As parents, we dread the day we stand over our child in the middle of the grocery story, park playground, or in front of their daycare as we watch them scream, trash about, and generally letting us know they are rather displeased we didn’t let them do something their way. You feel yourself tense up, your heart races, and you are increasingly aware of the people around you.
As you stand there, there are two questions in your head:
1) How did this happen?
2) What do I do now?
This parent education session aims to answer both of these questions.  We will look at childhood development and brain science to answer the “why”. Then, we’ll focus on our intentions as parents and how to think and act in a way that aligns with our intentions as we maneuver ourselves and our child through tantrums with as much grace and calmness as possible. Not only will you walk away feeling confident you can manage tantrums when it inevitably happens, but you’ll also learn how to reduce the number of tantrums to begin with, resulting in a more balanced child, and a more peaceful household.
