This three-part series invites educators to deepen their understanding of children as capable, thinking individuals who actively construct knowledge and meaning. Drawing inspiration from the BC Early Learning Framework and examples from Frog Hollow Children’s Centres, participants will explore pedagogical approaches that support meaningful listening, reflection, and inquiry with children.
Together, we will examine the BCELF rhizomes as tools for thinking with children, engage with cycles of listening, reflecting, discussing, and acting, and consider how everyday practices and systems influence our ability to hear and respond to children’s ideas. Through stories, dialogue, and practical examples, participants will reflect on how to shift from managing to listening, from rushing to pausing, and from teaching to researching alongside children.

– This is a multi-day event. By registering, you are committing to participating in all 3 days of this course.
– Participants must be able to attend the 1 in-person and 2 online sessions.
– Lunch during the in-person session will be provided.
– Doors open at 8:30 am

Presenter: Maryam Naddaf 
Maryam is the Director of the Reggio-Inspired Learning Centre at Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House in British Columbia. Her work focuses on bridging critical pedagogy and ethical practice, advocating for transformative approaches to play and learning that awaken the soul and honour the humanity of every child.
