Upcoming ELF off the Shelf Series

This series of workshops is held over multiple dates, attendance is required at all sessions.

Friday, November 27 • 7:00 am – 4:00 pm • In-person session & tour of Frog Hollow Child Care Centres 

In this series of workshops, we will take our ELF books off the shelf and together will learn about the main concepts of the BC Early Learning Framework (BCELF) by sharing lived experiences, engaging in individual and group exercises and study theories in meaningful ways.  This series is designed so educators not only learn about the BCELF, but also live the concepts through active reflection & critical dialogue. Learning will take place through non-traditional ways rather than simply reading the ELF.  

The focus of the series will be on understanding the BCELF’s image of the child, educator and schools and recognizing the role of educator in it all.  

Please note:

– This is a multi-day event. By registering, you are committing to participating in all 5 days of this course.
– Participants must be able to attend the 2 in-person and 3 online sessions. 
– Lunch during in-person sessions will be provided. 
– Chartered bus transportation will be provided on November 20 to attend the child care centres of Frog Hollow in Vancouver. 

This initiative is supported through the Canada-British Columbia Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Agreement between the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia, in partnership with the Westcoast Child Care Resource Centre (WCCRC), the agency responsible for administering the funds. 

Presenter: Maryam Naddaf 
Maryam is the director of Frog Hollow Reggio-Inspired Learning Centre in Vancouver. She works closely with Frog Hollow educators, children, and families in designing curriculum, and she facilitates and organizes workshops, tours, consultation services, and roundtables for the early childhood education and early years communities.
