ELFi First School is looking to add to our current team to fulfill a maternity leave position.
Position: Early Childhood Educator
Type: Temporary Full-Time (Maternity Leave Coverage) potential extended
Start Date: June/July 2026
We are seeking a dedicated, caring, and enthusiastic educator who is passionate about the Early Childhood Education field and committed to supporting children’s growth and development in a positive, nurturing, and engaging environment.
The ideal candidate is:

Reliable, professional, and passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences
Dedicated to providing high-quality care and education for young children
Requirements:
Valid ECE License to Practice in BC
Current First Aid Certificate
Clear Criminal Record Check
Minimum 2 years experience working in a group childcare setting
Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident status
Fluent in written and spoken English
Strong communication and teamwork skills
3 professional references required
Wage:
ECEA: $19/hour
ECE: $21/hour + WE (Wage Enhancement)
Benefits & Additional Information:
Extended benefits available after probation period
Centre closure: 2 weeks in December and 1 week in March (paid/annual closure period as per policy)
6–7 Professional Development days per year

Potential for this maternity leave position to become permanent
This position is to cover a maternity leave; however, there is potential for it to become a permanent position within our team.
