UPDATE: We’ll be in South Delta with the mobile parent library from 9:15 am to 11:45 am. Hope to see you there!

South Delta families... this is for you! Did you know we have a Parent Lending Library full of materials and toys for young children? Best of all we can come to you and it’s FREE!

Pick-up for library items will be monthly, on the last Wednesday of every month from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, at the South Delta Recreation Centre, 1720 56 Avenue Tsawwassen. We will be driving the CCRR Van; you can’t miss us! To borrow, we’ll need you to complete our short parent library subscription form.

Meet the members of our Outreach team, Cindy, Farzina and Allie! Together they support child care providers in family and in-home multi-age child care settings. They are here to support you with the valuable work that you provide to children and families in our community.

A few of the ways they can support you include:

- Assistance in opening up a registered license-not-required (RLNR) child care
- Supportive home visits
- Networking opportunities with other child care providers
- Providing child care provider drop-ins
- Sharing information about Childcare BC initiatives such as the Start-Up Grants, Child Care Operating Fund or the Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative.

This practical workshop will illustrate what a long-term project can look like through storytelling, documentation, and examples of invitations and provocations. We will imagine our long-term project is “Homes” and how that offers practitioners the opportunity to critically consider and reflect on the key principles of home including a sense of well-being and belonging, safety, and care. It challenges practitioners to consider the importance of attachment, well-being, belonging and connection in terms of their practice. Participants will receive a list of book resources as a handout.

We have an exciting training opportunity to share with you! Beginning April 3rd we're starting our next Community of Practice (CoP) which will focus on the importance of play and well-being. This CoP with Tamara and Tennille will be held over three months and provide 17.5 hours of professional development for only $40! Read on to learn more.

Play Matters: The Importance of Play for Learning and Well-Being

All sessions are in-person:
3 Mondays, April 3, May 1 & 29 from 6:30 – 9:00 pm and
2 Saturdays, April 15, June 24 from 9:30 am – 2:30 pm

Let’s Play – Everyday and Everywhere
Do you believe in the power of play? Do you value play? Are you seeking experiential learning through play?

Join us to experience a variety of ways to play. Together we will engage in collaborative dialogue, discussion, and critical reflection on our current practices. All with the hopes of finding deeper meaning in our work. Play is crucial in the lives of children and also our lives as adults. Spend time with us exploring the power of play through many different mediums like storytelling walks, being outdoors, utilizing loose parts, messy play, and more!

This Community of Practice is for anyone working with children who is looking for new ways to inspire learning and create a community within early childhood education.

Cost: $40.00 includes:
· Light meal at each session
· 3 books – the BC Early Learning Framework, Play Today and Let’s Play
· ECEBC Code of Ethics
· 17.5 hours of professional development

Please note a certificate of attendance will be issued at the last class for full attendance (17.5 hours)
