Simply telling children to “calm down” or “tough it out” or that they are “okay”, is not effective in truly helping children feel calm. In this workshop we will explore why it is important for young children to get to calm and why they need our help in getting to calm. We will also explore a number of practical strategies that with our support, will help them get there.

Suitable for all early learning and child care professionals

Presenter: Rebecca Mitchell

Rebecca has a Master’s Degree in Developmental Psychology with a specialty in Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health. She has worked in the field for 25 years and currently holds a position with The Centre for Child Development.
