Provocations are intended to trigger children’s curiosity. Curiosity leads children to exploration, experimentation, new learning and triggers new ideas and opportunities to use similar materials, in very different ways. The loose parts and materials used in setting up provocations are intended to support children in curating new languages, which in turn, adds to their sense of wonderment and how they engineer their play experiences. This workshop will provide a variety of examples of provocations that bring children’s ideas, thinking, and learning to life.
