- 2 Hour Workshop
April 9, 2018
6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Tantrums can be extremely challenging especially when there is no clear cause or solution! Learning the actual process of the tantrum can help bring clarity to the expectations and feelings associated with this potentially explosive behaviour. It is critical to learn how to respond to the child’s tantrum
rather than react. Some important ways to minimize tantrums from happening is by considering the behavioural factors, the level of emotional communication and quality of connection between the adult and child. Understanding this can help make a more successful experience filled with positive skill building for the child versus a difficult experience stuck in negative habits.
This workshop is designed for people who want to increase their skills in navigating more confidently through a child’s tantrum experience. This workshop is also ideal for people who want a more consistent and unified approach across the team or center.
This workshop will include a framework on how to recognize the key elements of the tantrum process, to create a ‘plan of action’ within your team and know how to respond and reinforce the good behaviour and correct any negative behaviour that may come up.
This will be an interactive discussion that includes opportunities for questions, situational examples, take home tools to use towards a future action plan in your center as well as moments of reflection to connect head and heart to the core of this matter.
