What are the big ideas in early mathematics? What materials and learning experiences help to create an intentional and joyful approach to the teaching and learning of early mathematics? In this session, Janice will share the big ideas in early mathematics such as counting, decomposing and patterning and how they develop from toddler through to kindergarten and what materials and experiences can support the development of these ideas in young children.
