Play can take on many forms and can look different depending on age, space, place, and intention of the play. In this workshop participants will get an overview of what play is, based on Dr. Stuart Brown’s principles of play. Through the work of Dr. Stuart Brown, educators will get to distinguish between play with purpose and play without a purpose. Participants will think about making space for a diverse range of play for the development of young children and how to rework the space, place, and time they provide, to honour and cultivate holistic play with young children.
