Beyond Pinterest and pictures of our ideal program environments, we will explore what drives how we plan our environments, what is our intent in the materials we provide and how reflective practice deepena our engagement with children. We will explore what quality may mean, what the non-negotiables are in our work when we plan our environments, choosing materials, and steps we can take to move towards a more
reflective approach in our practice. Using the Values of Principles of Reggio Emilia as a framework, we will reflect together on provocations and an intentional environment, one that makes visible to children what is possible in their day, with hands-on materials and visuals. Participants will engage with the presenter as she shares her research and experiences with quality improvement and reflective practice. Participants and the presenter will work together to explore specific challenges for the group, and work toward realistic next steps in their own environments.

Please bring pictures of areas in your programs that you’re struggling with or need support with.
