How is contemplative practice different for early learners? Through “playing” yoga in developmentally appropriate ways, learn how to make yoga and mindfulness engaging, accessible, and inclusive for all ages and abilities. Explore how to integrate yoga and mindfulness to circle time gatherings, transitions, art and outdoor play through games, stories and songs. Create moments of calm in the classroom and build skills for resilience for both student and teachers alike.  Learn self-care practices for both child and adult to in order to navigate through stressful situation and avoid burn-out. Apply Mindfulness based practices to support a pedagogy of relationship and create a culture of care for your early learning environment

Participants need to bring:
A Yoga mat or towel, water bottle, journal or notebook. Cushion or bolster pillow optional. Comfortable clothing.

Presenter: Josephine Chan
Josephine is the founder of Metta Kids Yoga, holds a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Care and Education, and is a Registered Yoga Teacher. Her mission is to provide tools for life-long well-being and resilience of  the child.
